Hi, Dr. Anand here from Warragul Dental Care.
If you’ve got a gap between your front teeth, sometimes affectionately called a “Madonna gap”, you might be wondering what the best way to close it is. The answer really depends on two things: the size of the gap and the proportions of your teeth.
For example, if your teeth are well proportioned but the gap is too wide, simply adding material to make them bigger could throw off your smile’s balance. In these cases, orthodontic treatments like Invisalign or traditional braces are often the way to go. They work gradually to shift your teeth into the right position, closing the gap in a natural, seamless way.

On the other hand, if the gap is small and closing it won’t upset the balance of your smile, we can add material directly to your teeth. Here, you have two main options: Ceramic veneers or bonding: A strong, long-lasting solution that offers a natural, stain-resistant finish. Or resin bonding: A more affordable option that looks great, though it might need a touch-up sooner than ceramic. The key is getting the proportions right because a great smile isn’t just about closing gaps, it’s about ensuring the final result looks balanced and natural.
