Hi, Dr. Anand here from Warragul Dental Care.
If you have multiple missing or decayed teeth, you may have heard about the All-Teeth-On-X as a suitable solution for a full arch replacement. This procedure is an investment in your long-term oral health, so it is natural for you to ask, ‘how long does the All-Teeth-On-4 treatment last?’
Well, the implants themselves have a 95–97% success rate at 10 to 15 years. So we know they hold up really well.
But what people don’t realise is that the new prosthetic teeth, whether they’re made of resin or ceramic, don’t last forever.
You see, resin teeth will typically need replacing every 5 to 10 years, depending on wear and tear, whereas ceramic teeth are much stronger and can last 10+ years, sometimes longer if they’re properly maintained.
Now, maintenance is key. The biggest risk with All-Teeth-On-4 is not cleaning properly, which can lead to gum disease around the implants, called peri-implantitis. And trust me, you don’t want that. It can compromise the implants, and if you lose one, it’s not an easy fix.

That’s why you need to brush properly! Yes, even with implants. Use interdental brushes or water flossers to clean under the bridge. And more importantly, come in for regular maintenance so we can actually take the bridge off, clean underneath, replace screws, and ensure everything is in top shape. So, the bottom line? The implants will last, but the teeth on top and your gum health require upkeep. If you take care of them, you’ll get decades out of your new smile.
